OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works builds its development strategy on the continuation of strengthening its positions in the domestic market, producing goods for the purpose of import substitution and meeting the demand for high-quality metal from the Russian economy. In recent years, MMK has mastered new technologies and started producing steel products that were previously imported. It is primarily a sheet material for large diameter pipes, high quality cold-rolled and galvanized products.
Competitive products meet the needs of major oil and gas projects in Russia, including key strategic pipelines such as Bovanenkovo Ukhta, Sakhalin Khabarovsk Vladivostok, Power of Siberia, the Southern Corridor, and the Eastern Siberia and Pacific Ocean oil pipelines. In addition, MMK has developed a technology for the production of rolled steel for use in areas of high seismic activity.
Within the framework of the Power of Siberia project, MMK produced and successfully certified a pilot batch of K60 thick plate of strength class. This product is intended for the production of pipes used in active tectonic zones and in permafrost conditions. This product meets all the requirements for earthquake resistance and extreme temperature resistance.
The new complex of cold-rolled products of Mill 2000 is intended for the production of high-quality cold-rolled and galvanized metal for the automotive industry, the production of household appliances and the construction industry. Due to the technological features of this MMK complex, the products meet the highest quality standards and make it possible to use corrosion-resistant coatings.
