USA increased the volume of imports and exports of rolled brass

According to the Council of Copper and Brass Producers, imports and exports of these products to the United States increased in January this year. US imports of rolled brass in January 2015 were £ 40.1 million, up 1.1 percent from £ 39.7 million in January 2014. (1 lb = 0.4535 kg)

Imports of all sheets, strips, plates and film products totaled £ 13.3 million in January. All pipe and tubular imports totaled 12.8 million pounds. Imports of profiles, bars and rebar totaled 11 million pounds and copper alloy wire 2.9 million pounds.

The main exporter of brass to the United States in January 2015 was Germany. Total imports from Germany during the month amounted to 9.6 million pounds. This is followed by South Korea with total US exports of 7.1 million pounds. Mexico ranked third among exporters. Rolled metal imports from Mexico to the United States amounted to 4.0 million pounds.

Exports of rolled brass from the United States totaled £ 20.2 million in January 2015, up 8.6 percent from £ 18.60 million in the same month last year, according to released data.

Mexico was the largest importer of rolled brass from the United States. Exports to Mexico amounted to almost 7.5 million pounds. Other top destinations were Canada with £ 5.8 million, South Korea (£ 1.5 million), China (£ 671,287) and Saudi Arabia (£ 553,959).
