In the USA, imports and exports of rolled brass decreased

The Copper and Brass Manufacturers Council reported that imports and exports of rolled brass to the United States fell sharply during the first months of the year. According to the data, imports of rolled brass to the United States in February this year amounted to 34.1 million pounds, down 11 percent from 38.2 million pounds imported last year. Germany was the main exporter of rolled brass in the United States. Total imports from Germany for the month amounted to 7.3 million pounds. Germany is followed by South Korea with total exports to the United States of £ 5.5 million. In third place was Mexico with the supply of rolled brass at 5.1 million pounds.

Imports of all sheets, strips, plates and film products totaled 9.4 million pounds in February, pipes and tubular goods 12.9 million pounds. Imports of all profiles, bars and fittings totaled 9 million pounds, imports of copper alloy wire 2.8 million pounds

Exports of rolled brass from the United States totaled 20.8 million pounds in February, down 2.6 percent from exports in the same month last year, according to data released by the Copper and Brass Manufacturers Council.

Mexico was the leading importer of rolled brass from the United States in February this year. Exports to Mexico amounted to almost 8.9 million pounds, followed by Canada at 5.2 million pounds. Other leading export destinations were Saudi Arabia (£ 751,480), China (£ 685,236), Hong Kong (£ 632,127).

Exports of all sheets, strips, plates and film products were £ 8.1 million in February 2015. Exports of pipes and tubular goods amounted to 3.2 million pounds, all profiles, bars and fittings - 7.5 million pounds, wires - 2 million pounds.
