Severstal now has the opportunity to sell rebar in Germany

Severstal Russian Steel, one of the world's largest integrated producers of steel products, iron ore and coal, has successfully passed certification in Germany, receiving a certificate for the supply of rebar in rods with a profile diameter of 10 mm -16 mm in accordance with DIN 488.

This certificate provides the company with the opportunity to supply rebar to the markets of Germany, Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries, where there is an increase in the number of construction projects for the implementation of which rebar is widely used. Confirmation of compliance with international standards guarantees the high quality of the products themselves to customers and consumers.

The certified fittings are produced by the Cherepovets Steel Mill at Mill 250, which is part of the Severstal division. Reinforcing bars with diameters of 10 mm, 12 mm and 16 mm are currently approved. In addition, by the end of this year, it is planned to receive a certificate for the entire profile range of reinforcement with a diameter of up to 40 mm, intended for reinforcing reinforced concrete structures, conventional and prestressed.

The availability of certificates is one of the important conditions that will allow PJSC Severstal to maintain its competitiveness and expand its supply regions in the international market. The prospect of export markets creates an opportunity for the efficient operation of the enterprise, which is confirmed by the concluded contracts for the supply of valves according to the standard in April this year in a total volume of 1,700 tons. In the face of declining demand in the domestic market, entering the international market is an important step.
