Recent visits by Chinese leaders to Russia and Latin America, as well as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to China, have resulted in at least $ 80 billion in deals and agreements signed with solar and infrastructure manufacturers. The treaties also take into account monetary arrangements and involve cooperation in areas such as health and information security.
Russia and China have signed 32 agreements, including a $ 25 billion deal to boost lending, railway projects and international information security cooperation agreements. VTB Bank, Sberbank and the Russian telecommunications firm Mobile TeleSystems are the companies that secured lines of credit to Chinese banks, and the power grid corporations of China and Russia have formed a joint venture. Beijing also agreed to provide 300 billion rubles (HK $ 46 billion) for the construction of a high-speed rail line in Russia, while China Railway Group and China Railway Construction Corp have won construction contracts.
China signed a five-year memorandum on the supply of Belarusian potash fertilizers and currency swap agreements for 7 billion yuan (8.9 billion Hong Kong dollars). He also extended a $ 3 billion loan for Belarusian enterprises and $ 4 billion for commercial lending to banks in the Republic of Belarus.
China and India have signed 26 business deals worth over $ 22 billion in areas ranging from ports to financed renewables. Adani Power Group has signed a framework agreement with Golden Concord Group in China to invest in natural gas exploration.
In Brazil, a number of agreements have been signed, including the sale of passenger aircraft made by Embraer to China's Tianjin airline and a $ 10 billion financing agreement between Petrobras and Chinese banks. Iron ore miner Vale SA has signed contracts with China Energy Merchants Shipping Co Ltd and China COSCO Holdings Co, while leaders discussed a long-term plan to build a railroad across the Andes to the Pacific. China agreed with Peru and Chile on cooperation in the areas of industrial potential, energy, mining and aerospace, infrastructure, healthcare, and discussed joint work on financial issues.
