EVRAZ modernizes the Regina steel plant in Canada

ЕВРАЗ модернизирует металлургический комбинат Регина в Канаде
Primetals Technologies has been awarded an order to modernize the EVRAZ steel plant in Canada. The project covers a full range of solutions for the improvement of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and production automation in order to improve the quality of products, from the liquid steel stage to finished products. The modernization includes the installation of a new 135 tonne vacuum degasser as well as the reconstruction of the existing slab and plate production at the Steckel plant.

The update will allow Evraz Regina to produce a wider range of pipes, as well as screw piles used for foundation construction ... UK-based iron and steel equipment manufacturer Primetals Technologies plans to install new equipment in the fourth quarter of 2016.

EVRAZ North America is a subsidiary of EVRAZ, one of the largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies in the world. Founded in 1992 in Moscow, the company is now a leading manufacturer in North America with factories in Russia, the United States, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Canada, Italy, South Africa and Kazakhstan, and is headquartered in London.

The company is represented by six manufacturing sites located in the United States (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta), and is considered a leader in the production of large diameter rails and pipes in the North America.

EVRAZ Regina produces plates, plates and coils from carbon steel. The raw material uses scrap metal, which is converted to molten steel in two electric furnaces to produce plates, and then hot rolled at the Steckel plant to produce plates and coils for the manufacture of tubular products for Canada and the United States. The product line includes oil and gas pipes, body and small diameter pipes. Large diameter pipes are manufactured from 26 "(660 mm) to 80" (2032 mm).
