China's Ministry of Commerce said it has launched an anti-dumping investigation into the import of grain-oriented electrical steel from South Korea, Japan and the European Union.
Chinese authorities are about to investigate whether imports of textured flat-rolled electrical steel from these three countries are actually negatively affecting local Chinese industries, according to the ministry's brief notice.
Electrical steel is used in the manufacture of transformers, reactors, electric motors, magnetic switches, small generators and converters.
