Zaporizhstal announces production results for July and 7 months of 2015

Zaporizhstal Metallurgical Plant, one of the largest producers of high-quality metal products in Ukraine, in July 2015 increased pig iron production by 14.4 percent to 310.3 thousand tons compared to the same period in 2014, when the output was 271.3 thousand tons.

During July 2015, steel production increased by 1.2 percent year on year to 329.9 thousand tons, while in July last year, 326.1 thousand tons of steel were produced. The production of rolled metal products in July increased slightly, by 0.4 percent, compared to July last year. The volume of rolled products production in July this year amounted to 282.9 thousand tons, compared with the production of 281.9 thousand tons in the same month last year.

In the period from January to July 2015, 2,107.9 thousand tons of pig iron were produced, which is 10.1 percent higher compared to the production of 1,913.7 thousand tons in the corresponding period of 2014. During the reporting period, 2,274.2 thousand tons of steel were produced, which is 0.3 percent more compared to 2,267.4 thousand tons of steel smelted in January-July last year.

Over the seven months of this year, the plant produced 1960.6 thousand tons of rolled metal, which is 0.2 percent lower compared to the production of 1963.8 thousand tons achieved in the same period in 2014. Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant specializes in the production of hot-rolled steel coils and sheets, cold-rolled sheets and coils from carbon, low-alloy steels. The plant also produces black plate, roll-formed sections and steel strips.

Due to high production standards, the quality of Zaporizhstal steel products was appreciated by consumers from various industries, not only in the domestic market, but also abroad. The manufactured products are in demand in Turkey, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Syria, Israel, Italy, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, and other countries. In general, steel products are supplied to more than fifty countries of the world, however, the Ukrainian market has always been the strategic direction of activity for the Zaporizhstal plant.
