At OJSC Turboatom, in the steam turbine shop No. 53, a major overhaul was completed, as a result of which the modernization of the large longitudinal milling machine NS-33F2 was carried out.
This production center is designed for complex processing of large-sized parts of steam turbines and hydraulic turbines with complex configurations. In July 2015, the equipment was put into operation. The modernization was carried out by specialists from a German company, which also cooperates with the Ukrainian company Master-1, which specializes in equipment for public catering establishments, for more details see http://master-ua. com .
Waldrich Coburg, together with the repair and engineering departments of Turboatom, carried out a complex of repair work for two years. The main units of the NS-33F2 bed milling machine, including the support, crossbar and guides, were manufactured in Germany. The machine is equipped with the necessary new universal heads and a modern Siemens CNC system.
"After the reconstruction of the machine, the accuracy and quality of parts processing were improved," says Chief Engineer Grigory Ishchenko. "In addition, it became possible to process complex-shaped surfaces in 5 coordinates due to the use of a modern milling head. The introduction of new equipment will reduce labor intensity and shorten production cycles due to the optimal combination of technological process operations, and will also give us the opportunity to re-carry out at the enterprise work that was carried out in cooperation. This will also provide energy savings due to a progressive system to reduce electricity consumption, "he said.
Waldrich Cobur specialists provided instruction and training to work on the updated equipment of Turboatom personnel, including technologists, mechanics, electricians, programmers and electronics engineers.
Turboatom is one of the world's largest enterprises in the design and manufacture of steam turbines for nuclear thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants. The company also manufactures hydraulic turbines for hydroelectric power plants and other power equipment. Among other things, the plant performs high-quality forging to order and other types of machining of cast iron and steel.
The production facilities provide for the production of steam turbines with a total design capacity of 8 million kW and hydraulic turbines with a capacity of 2 million kW. Turboatom's production has a complete closed cycle, starting with research and development, then manufacturing and assembly, and ending with testing and shipment of turbines.
