According to the latest statistics released by the Copper and Brass Producers Council, imports of rolled brass to the United States fell during June this year, while exports declined marginally.
The data presented show that imports of rolled brass in the United States fell 6.6 percent in June this year to 44.116 million pounds, compared to 47.225 million pounds of imports recorded during June 2014.
Germany was the main exporter of rolled brass to the United States in June 2015. Total imports from Germany during the month amounted to 10.326 million pounds. South Korea was in second place in terms of brass exports to the United States with 6,252 pounds. In third place was Mexico with 5.257 million pounds.
Imports of all sheets, strips, plates and foil totaled £ 14.030 million in June. Imports of pipes and tubular products amounted to 15.313 million pounds. Imports of all profiles, rods and rebar totaled 11.045 million pounds, wire - 3.729 million pounds.
Cumulative imports of rolled brass during the first six months of this year were 261.342 million pounds, down 4.1 percent compared to imports of 272.459 million pounds during January-June 2014.
Exports of rolled brass from the United States totaled £ 21.929 million in June 2015, down 0.2 percent from £ 21.982 million in the same month last year, according to data released by the Copper and Brass Producers Council.
Mexico was the leading destination for rolled brass exports from the United States in June this year. Exports to Mexico amounted to almost 8.706 million pounds, followed by Canada with 5.557 million pounds. Other top destinations for exports were China (£ 1.385 million), Saudi Arabia (£ 1.216 million) and South Korea (£ 1.104 million).
Exports of all sheets, strips, plates and foils totaled £ 7.434 million in June 2015. Exports of pipes and tubular products amounted to 5.028 million pounds. Exports of all profiles, bars and fittings were 7.365 million pounds, copper alloy wire was 2.102 million pounds.
Exports of rolled brass in the first six months of this year totaled 129.078 million pounds, down slightly 1 percent compared to 130.165 million pounds during January-June 2014.
