In July 2015, the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) introduced a system of operational scheduling in sheet rolling shop No. 5. The automated planning system has now covered all large production units, including the 2000 cold rolling mill complex and the 5000 plate mill.
This system provides a prompt response to changes in the order portfolio and allows coordinating the work of all production shops and sections of the metallurgical plant. Strict adherence to the terms of production and shipment of orders, as well as taking into account all related factors, provides an increase in the economic effect of all production activities.
The automated system was developed by the Ausferr Technology Research Center in close cooperation with the staff of the Magnitogorsk Combine. The system provides accurate operational planning of the entire production cycle, from steelmaking to shipment of finished products. This approach allows you to achieve optimal utilization of production facilities, taking into account the technological requirements and customer requests.
The efficient use of production facilities and the organization of interaction between the production units of the plant ensures a reduction in production costs. In addition, customers have the ability to track the process of fulfilling their order on-line, as well as monitor compliance with all requirements.
