Azovstal railway products are approved by European consumers

The high quality of rail fasteners produced by Azovstal (Metinvest Group) was appreciated by Skinest Baltija. These products are used as elements connecting rails and sleepers. Rail fasteners are an important element of the railway track and are used on all railways. The operation of railways is associated with serious loads, and the highest ones are experienced by rail fastenings. In this regard, railway fasteners must meet the hanging requirements in terms of structural characteristics, as well as the quality of the steel from which they are made.

Metinvest Group products are quite diverse, from slabs to high-wall steels used in the production of household appliances, including electric stoves for catering . The manufactured products are mainly supplied to the domestic market and the CIS countries, including Belarus and Turkmenistan, as well as to European countries such as Hungary, Latvia and Lithuania.


The European supplier of products for the railway infrastructure Skinest Baltija has carried out a comprehensive analysis and confirmed the compliance with the requirements of GOST and UkrSEPRO of rail fasteners produced by the Azovstal plant in the city of Mariupol. As a result of the tests, a high quality of 1KB50, 1KB65 and KD-65 separate fastening linings and double-headed pads for R65 rails was established.

During the first half of 2015, the production facilities of Metinvest Group supplied more than 10 thousand tons of rolled steel for railways, including 1,000 tons of rail fastenings. Metinvest Group enterprises produce more than 15 types of rail fasteners, including rigid intermediate clamps, pads and linings.
