Severstal placed an order for the installation of galvanizing and polymer coating lines

PAO Severstal has selected the CMI Group as a supplier of a new highly efficient hot-dip galvanizing line and polymer coating line to be installed at its Cherepovets plant in Russia. Severstal has contracted with CMI Industry Metals to provide design and construction services for process equipment and production support. The contract provides for the commissioning of a hot-dip galvanizing line (HDG) and a color coating line (CCL) with a production capacity of 400 and 200 thousand tons per year, respectively, at a process speed of 180 m /min and 120 m /min.

CMI believes that "With this project, the Russian company will not only significantly increase the production of products with higher added value, but will also increase the share of consumption in Russia." The Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant confirms that it is a strategically and economically important complex that will ensure the production of galvanized and polymer-coated products for construction and household appliances. It will be introduced in April 2017.

The new lines are aimed at a high level of operational efficiency and environmental friendliness. They have a full range of CMI processes including ultra-low emission furnaces, energy recovery jet systems, Air-Knife and APC Blowstab cooling and low vibration systems, as well as other critical line components that guarantee smooth strip running. CMI celebrates many years of successful cooperation with Severstal: “As, for example, this is the fourth galvanizing line from CMI Industry Metals for Severstal in the last 10 years”.
