US officials have found ample evidence accepting complaints from US steel pipe manufacturers that they are being pressured by exporters from South Korea, Mexico and Turkey, moving them one step closer to imposing import duties.
The US International Trade Commission said all six commissioners have voted to continue their investigation into the import of heavy-walled rectangular and circular carbon steel pipes that are sold too cheaply in the US market, and in the case of Turkish products, manufacturers benefit from unfair government support. ...
The complaint was filed on behalf of Atlas Tube; a division of the JMC Steel Group; Bull Moose Tube Company; EXLTUBE; Hannibal Industries, Inc; Independence Tube Corporation; Maruichi American Corporation, a subsidiary of Maruichi; Searing Industries and others
The Commerce Department is going to issue a preliminary decision on October 14, and a final decision on December 28.
