Imports from China accounted for 65 percent of the total. Chinese imports totaled 1.29 million tons to the country during the month. Japanese goods reached 27.9 percent of imports and amounted to 554,000 tons.
Imports of hot-rolled steel sheets rose 14.1 percent year-on-year, while imports of H-beams fell 25.1 percent year-on-year, affected by the Seoul government's decision in late July to impose anti-dumping duties on these products from China.
