As part of the implementation of the program for the accelerated economic development of Iran, the construction of two large industrial enterprises, a petrochemical complex and a steel plant, began in the coastal region in the southeast of Iran.
It is planned that the metallurgical plant will have an annual production capacity of 3.2 million tons of sponge iron, iron pellets, steel wire and hot rolled ferrous metals. Another project is a complex of 20 projects for the production of petrochemical products such as methanol, ammonia, urea, ethylene and propylene. It is being built in Pasabandar, also known as Makran on the coast, which is located in the southeastern region of Iran on the Oman Sea.
The implementation of these major projects began with an official ceremony attended by the Ministers of Defense and Industry. Industrial hubs under construction are located in the port city of Chabahar, in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, which has an extensive coastline on the Oman Sea.
