October 2, Washington. The White House called on Russia to more accurately direct air strikes against the Islamic State - and said that negotiations between the military of the two countries concerned primarily the safety of American pilots. This was reported by the BBC.

"On Thursday, an hour-long videoconference was held between the Pentagon and the Ministry of Defense in Moscow," said US President's spokesman Josh Ernest.

Ernest expressed concern about reports that Russian planes are striking areas where there was no known presence of any significant ID militants, but armed opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, supported by the West, are active.

Colonel Steve Warren, a spokesman for the US military in Iraq, noted that according to his data, none of the 12 targets hit by Russian planes in Syria the day before had anything to do with the Islamic State.

Among other things, the White House fears that Russian strikes on the positions of the "Islamic State" in Syria may lead to an influx of armed formations from Iran.

Recall that, according to the statements of the Russian Ministry of Defense, pinpoint strikes were carried out on eight IS objects in Syria and hit ammunition, weapons, fuel and lubricants depots, accumulations of military equipment, and also completely destroyed the command posts of IS militants in the mountains. At the same time, as emphasized in the Russian defense department, all strikes were made after aerial reconnaissance and clarification of the data received from the headquarters of the Syrian army.
