Kazakhstani companies have shown "great interest" in Ukrainian oblenergos put up for privatization. Energy Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchishin said this on Friday in Astana.
He noted that Kazakh companies have extensive experience in servicing and supplying coal to thermal power plants and teplokomunenergo enterprises.
“The Kazakh side has a rather strong interest in the privatization of Ukrainian energy companies,” Demchishin said, adding that Kazakh businessmen are interested in both generation and distribution networks.
“They are very interested in the heat generating infrastructure,” the official stressed.
The talks are also about the transit of Kazakh oil to Europe.
Demchishin said that he understands the economic inexpediency of this venture, but, according to him, "there are ideas how to change this policy."
“And this is also the subject of today's negotiations,” he said.
We will remind, on October 9, the second day of the visit of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to Kazakhstan continues.
This morning, Poroshenko met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
