Ukraine sharply reduced the production of pipe metal products: three factories were stopped

According to the results of the work of the pipe industry in Ukraine in January - September 2015, the output of finished products decreased by 41.9 percent compared to the same period last year (APPG) to 643.4 thousand tons. In September, pipe production increased slightly from 72.1 thousand to 74.7 thousand tons. This was reported in Forbes, citing a source in the government.

The most serious losses were suffered by the Khartsizskiy pipe plant (KhTZ) of the Metinvest group of Rinat Akhmetov located near Donetsk in the ATO zone. Here, the production of pipe products fell by 58.8 percent in 9 months to 66.3 thousand tons. At the same time, since July, the plant has stopped producing metal products altogether.

The Lugansk Pipe-Rolling Plant (LTPZ) located in the ATO zone, created on the basis of the Lugansk Pipe Plant, was still idle in January-September.

The rest of the pipe plants in Ukraine also significantly reduced their production.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the most significant drop in production is observed at the Nizhnedneprovsk pipe plant "Interpipe-NTZ", which in January-September 2015 reduced the output of pipe products by 48.7 percent to 127 thousand tons. The rest of the pipe enterprises of the Intepipe group of the oligarch Viktor Pinchuk also significantly reduced the production of pipes: Interpipe NMPP - by 34.7 percent, to 71.6 thousand tons; Interpipe Niko Tube - by 43.5 percent to 181.5 thousand tons.

Dnepropetrovsk Pipe Plant (DTZ) for the reporting period reduced the production of pipes by 75.5 percent - to 6.1 thousand tons, in May-August the enterprise was idle, in September it produced 1.9 thousand tons of pipes.

In the Donetsk region, the Ilyich Mariupol Metallurgical Plant (MMK) for the first nine months of this year reduced the production of pipes by 9.2 percent, to 41.6 thousand tons of pipes.

Production fell by 15.1 percent at Kominmet, to 130.3 thousand tons, and at Centravis, by 11 percent, to 14.5 thousand tons of stainless pipes. AG Stal LLC (previously a joint venture Second Ltd, Mariupol, Donetsk region) stood idle in January-September 2015, while in January-September 2014 it produced 21.3 thousand tons of pipes.

As reported, the main pipe enterprises of Ukraine in 2014 reduced the production of steel pipes by 13.7 percent compared to 2013 - to 1,396.3 thousand tons.

KhTZ produced 238.2 thousand tons of pipes in 2014, which is 6.7 percent less than the previous year.

Pipe production at Interpipe-NTZ decreased by 14.4 percent, to 302.2 thousand tons, at Interpipe NMPP - by 42.2 percent, to 131.1 thousand tons, while at Interpipe Niko Tube ”Increased by 5.3 percent - up to 396.5 thousand tons.
