September 10, Kolkata. One of the largest Indian steel companies reported a sharp increase in sales of metal products in July-September 2015. According to the press service of the company, its consolidated sales in the second quarter of the current fiscal year amounted to 2.1 million tons, which is 11 percent higher than the corresponding figure in the APPD.
In the first half of the year (April - September), Tata Steel sold 4.4 million tonnes of commercial rolled metal, which is 6 percent more than 4.2 million tonnes in the APPG.
Tata Steel said that consolidated finished steel production in July-September increased by 16.9 percent to 2.4 million tonnes.
Over the past 6 months, Tata Steel smelters around the world have rolled 4.6 million tonnes of steel products, which is 4 percent higher than the year before.
