PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" invested one and a half million hryvnia in the repair of the bridge over the railway tracks

With the support of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" in Kryvyi Rih, work on the repair of overpass No. 5, which is located on the bypass road, is nearing completion. The enterprise invested one and a half million hryvnias in repairs. For many years, within the framework of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of social and economic development of the city between the executive committee of the Kryvyi Rih City Council and PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih", the company has been annually supporting the implementation of urban social projects. One of the points of such an Agreement for 2014 was the allocation of one and a half million hryvnia for the repair of overpass No. 5.

Overpass No. 5 passes over the railroad tracks in the area of ​​the bypass road. For a long time, the bridge was in disrepair, moving along it was problematic and dangerous. Work began at the end of June, so as not to block traffic, it was decided to reconstruct the bridge in parts. The main emphasis was placed on the repair of reinforced concrete and other structures of the bridge, because it was they who fell into disrepair and created an emergency situation. The floor slabs that passed under the sidewalks were replaced, waterproofing was done, repairs with reinforcement of the bridge joints were made. New bumpers and barriers were installed, and special plates were installed to make the bridge work. In the repair, a special technology was used that allows the bridge to move, it is also called the “dovetail principle”. After repairs, new fences were installed on the bridge, into which reflectors are built; for traffic safety, they will reflect the headlights of cars at night.

The bridge was repaired under the constant supervision of the city utilities, the city administration and ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih PJSC. Such interaction with the authorities makes it possible to obtain a synergistic effect from the work, because acting together, we have received an excellent result. "
