Mariupol Azovstal continues to incur losses

In January - September 2015, the Mariupol metallurgical plant Azovstal, according to international financial reporting standards (IFRS), received a net loss of UAH 619.298 million against a net profit of UAH 318.438 million in the same period last year (APPG), the plant said.

For 9 months of this year, compared with the APPG, Azovstal increased its net income by 31.54 percent, or 5 billion 041.446 million hryvnia to 21 billion 026.328 million hryvnia.

In the 3rd quarter of 2015, the Mariupol plant received a loss of 971.046 million hryvnia against the net profit last year, which amounted to 235.078 million hryvnia. At the same time, Azovstal increased its net income by 28.63 percent, or by UAH 1 billion 504.616 million to UAH 6 billion 759.236 million.

As a reminder, Azovstal ended 2014 with a net profit of UAH 915.891 million, increasing its net income by 7.22 percent, or by UAH 1.51 billion to UAH 22.390 billion compared to 2013.

The Azovstal plant is part of the Metinvest group, the main shareholders of which are Rinat Akhmetov's SCM group (71.25 percent) and Vadim Novinsky's Smart Holding group of companies (23.75 percent).

Today it became known that Vadim Novinsky is going to acquire the Kiev football club "Arsenal".
