Metinvest, a Dutch mining and metallurgical company with assets in Ukraine, has prepared a social report in accordance with the international standard Global Reporting Initiative (GRI 4.0) and the principles of the UN Global Compact.
“The report reflects the main production achievements and social programs, the relationship of the company with partners, consumers and residents of the cities of presence,” the company said.
Metinvest said that the company focused on environmental projects in Mariupol and Kryvyi Rih, where about 1.36 billion hryvnias were spent on the acquisition and modernization of fixed assets. In the last two years alone, the company has invested about UAH 10 billion in workplace safety and environmental protection. In 2013, the public union "Green Center Metinvest" began to work, which implements environmental initiatives of residents of Mariupol.
The company managed to preserve jobs and enterprises in the area of the anti-terrorist operation and, after the outbreak of hostilities in eastern Ukraine in 2014, focused on helping the victims, placing refugees and restoring urban infrastructure.

We are still introducing best practices in the field of environmental protection, restoring and improving cities, building a modern European company in Ukraine, ”commented Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest, on the release of the report.
In 2013-2014, Metinvest increased social investments in the development of cities where the Group's production is located. UAH 230 million was spent on infrastructure, medicine, sports and education, corporate social programs over two years. More than 200 social partnership projects have been implemented in the regions of presence.
