Posco, the largest metallurgical company in South Korea, filed an application on November 6 to exclude its securities from the Tokyo Stock Exchange listing.
Recall that recently the first meeting in many years took place between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korean President Park Geun-hye.
Analysts hoped that there would be an improvement in relations between the countries.
The historical controversy between the two states stems from the fact that a number of Japanese political leaders refuse to admit that during World War II, the Japanese military forced Korean girls to work in brothels and in fact made them sex slaves.
The Japanese called such women "pleasure girls."
