PJSC "Zaporizhstal" has started the final stage of the sinter plant reconstruction project

On November 5, 2015, the Metinvest Group's Zaporozhye Metallurgical Plant stopped sinter machine No. 3 to connect the main gas cleaning equipment. The next step is to stop and connect the gas purifiers of sintering machines No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. As a result, all six sintering machines will be equipped with modern gas cleaning equipment, thanks to which emissions from the plant's sinter plant will be reduced by 45%. Total investments in the ecological modernization of the sinter plant will amount to more than UAH 845 million of investments.

It takes about 2 months to connect and debug the operation of each gas purifier and a complete shutdown of the sinter machine, to which it is currently connected. PJSC "Zaporizhstal" started construction and installation work on the installation of gas cleaning equipment on sintering machines in mid-2015. During this time, large-scale construction work was carried out, the main gas cleaning equipment for sintering machines No. 3-4 was installed - bag filters, adsorbers, dust collection conveyors, a system of technological gas ducts. To date, about 90% of the metal structures of gas purifiers No. 3 and No. 4 have been installed.

Recall that in 2013 the plant completed the reconstruction and put into operation sinter machine No. 1 with modern highly efficient gas cleaning equipment, in 2014 - built and commissioned gas cleaning equipment for sinter machine No. 2. The supplier of gas cleaning equipment for the sinter plant of the plant is the largest Ukrainian manufacturer - Berdichev Machine-Building plant "Progress", general contractor of construction and installation works - Zaporozhye construction and installation department (ZSMU).

The equipment of the sinter machines of the plant with gas cleaning systems is carried out in accordance with the Tripartite Agreement between the Ministry of Ecology of Ukraine, the Zaporozhye Regional Council and PJSC Zaporizhstal. Permit No. IУ 114151740127 dated June 23, 2015 for the construction of gas purifiers on sintering machines No. 3-6 issued by the State Architectural and Construction Inspection of Ukraine.
