The Dutch mining and metallurgical company Metinvest of the Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov has decided to reduce the working hours and salaries of administrative personnel at its Ukrainian enterprises by 20 percent due to the difficult financial situation and uncertainty in the steel market.
In the message of the press service of Metinvest, which is available to UNIAN, it is noted that this measure was taken in order to reduce the company's costs, its effect will last two months.
The company said that recently, due to a number of objective reasons, the volume of production at two city-forming enterprises of Mariupol - metallurgical plants named after Ilyich and Azovstal decreased by almost half.
“The anti-crisis program is focused on cutting costs. To do this, we will maximize the activation of internal reserves and refuse from costs that are not related to production. Such measures will allow reducing costs and directing savings to support production and labor collectives, ”Metinvest reported.
At other plants of the group in Poland, Italy and other countries, work continues as usual.
