The government of Ukraine is offered to introduce an export duty on scrap in the amount of 50 euros per ton

If the state decides to increase the duty to the specified level, then the amount of budget revenues could be 45 million euros, which, when converted at the current exchange rate, will exceed one billion hryvnia, or rather, it will approach the mark of 1.125 billion hryvnia, writes the author of the article, Alexander Ryazanov.

At the same time, additional tax revenues from the metallurgical industry will form the bulk of this tangible amount (over 750 million hryvnia), and the share of export duties will be only 1/3 of the total budget revenues associated with the introduction of this regulatory measure.

“Thus, taking into account the lost profit from the export of finished metal products and income from the collection of duties on the export of scrap metal, we can talk not about millions, but about billions of additional revenues to the state budget of Ukraine,” the article says.
