44-year-old Andrey Zhuk, who previously held the position of head of the production department of the capital construction department, has been appointed chief engineer of the metallurgical plant Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group.
Vladimir Buryak, who previously held the post of chief engineer of Zaporizhstal, was dismissed of his own free will in connection with his election to the post of mayor of Zaporozhye.
“Andrey Zhuk will be responsible for the technical policy and efficient operation of the plant's equipment, its repairs and maintenance, the operation of the plant's energy systems and communications,” the company said.
The chief engineer is subordinate to the mechanical and energy repair shops of the plant, which employ about 4,000 specialists and workers.
“I am sure that Andrey Zhuk, as a chief engineer, will show his best qualities as a leader and an experienced technical specialist,” said Rostislav Shurma, General Director of Zaporizhstal PJSC.
