In November, Metinvest Group will supply DTEK Pavlogradugol (Dnipropetrovsk region) with about 150 tons of special profile No. 19 of the new 20G2AF steel grade. These products are manufactured at the Azovstal plant and are used to strengthen mines.
Especially for these products, Azovstal has developed a technology for the production of a new steel grade 20G2AF instead of the ordinary St5ps, which was used earlier. The plant has been regularly producing profiles for arch supports of mine workings since 2013.
The SVP profile made of a new steel grade has higher anti-corrosion properties. Its use allows to reduce the metal consumption of supports by 20%, to reduce labor costs by 15-20%, as well as to increase the service life and the level of reuse of supports.
The first enterprise that completely switched over to the use of profiles from 20G2AF steel was the Krasnodonugol Association.
Metinvest continues to expand its high value-added product line. Today the assortment of 20G2AF profiles includes three sizes (SVP 19, 22 and 27). The company plans to sell products on the domestic market, and is also considering the possibility of exporting to the CIS countries.
