From the end of 2012 to 2015, PJSC Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group shipped about 2 million tons of steel through the Zaporozhye river port. In 2015, the company exports about 700 thousand tons of metallurgical products by ships of the Ukrrichflot JSIC, the press service of Zaporizhstal reported.
“The preservation of shipment volumes in difficult economic conditions at the level of last year was made possible by the extension of the navigation period until December 20, 2015,” the company noted.
The extension of navigation will allow the plant to ship about 50 thousand tons of products to consumers during this period and at the same time save up to 3 million hryvnia on logistics costs.
As a reminder, Zaporizhstal PJSC renewed its strategic partnership with the Zaporizhzhya River Port in October 2012. The volume of production of PJSC "Zaporizhstal" is 80 percent of all export shipments of the Zaporizhzhya river port. In 2015, the plant's export cargoes were sent to consumers by water transport to consumers in 4 European countries (Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey).
