According to the World Steel Association Worldsteel, world steel production in January - November 2015 decreased by 2.8 percent and amounted to 1 billion 471.403 million tons.
In November, steel production in the countries of the association was 127 million tons, which is 4.1 percent less than in November 2014 and 5.1 percent less than in October 2015.
In most countries of the world, with the exception of Italy and Ukraine, steel production declined. In November 2015, Ukraine produced 1.9 million tons of steel, which is 3.1 percent more compared to the same month in 2014.
The primary steel capacity utilization rate for 66 member countries in November 2015 was 66.9 percent. This is 4.0 percentage points lower than in November 2014 and 1.4 percent less than in October 2015.
