Fiscal Service of Ukraine made Zaporizhstal a Christmas present

According to the press service of the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant of Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest Group, the State Fiscal Service has fully returned the overdue debt on value added tax reimbursement to the plant in the amount of UAH 1 billion 14 million.

"To date, there is no overdue VAT debt owed by the state to the plant," Zaporizhstal officials said.

The general director of the enterprise Rostislav Shurma noted that the return of the VAT debt allowed Zaporizhstal to return to the reconstruction of the sinter plant, which is one of the main sources of air pollution in Zaporozhye.

"The return of the VAT debt that accumulated in the first half of 2015 will allow the plant to pay wages on time, pay off for electricity and other energy resources, pay off overdue debts for the supply of raw materials, and, as a result, work out the New Year holidays in a normal mode," he said Shurma.
