The Turkish Ministry of Economy has set the level of dumping margin for Russian companies at 9.42 percent for NLMK, 12.43 percent for Severstal and 13.66 percent for Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. The final decision of Turkey to impose a duty on Russian steel supplies is expected in February. Thus, Turkey can respond to Russian sanctions imposed on the republic almost two months ago.
According to TASS, the largest Russian metallurgical companies intend to challenge Turkey's decision to introduce an anti-dumping duty on the supply of hot-rolled steel coils from Russia.
"MMK will use all legal means to challenge the decision to introduce anti-dumping duties," said MMK, which is the largest Russian steel supplier to Turkey.
“We are confident that our exports are not dumping. Until the decision, which is expected in February, we will continue to participate in the hearings and defend our position, ”said the NLMK representative.
“We consider the decision to introduce an anti-dumping duty on the supply of hot-rolled coils to Turkey unreasonable and intend to challenge it within the framework of the procedures established by international law,” a Severstal spokesman said.
In 2015, Russia exported 825 thousand tonnes of hot rolled steel to Turkey for $ 413 million, which is about 19 percent of Turkey's hot rolled steel market.
Russian metallurgists will dispute the introduction of export duties by Turkey
