Alcoa signs multi-billion dollar deal with Boeing

In New York, Alcoa Inc. signed a long-term supply contract with Boeing. The contract provides for the supply of heavy-duty components to the aerospace company Boeing. The deal is one of the largest in a series of long-term contracts the company has entered into with a leading global aerospace company. Through this contract, Alcoa has secured nearly $ 10 billion in deals since the beginning of last year.

The agreement covers the supply of components for the commercial aircraft 777X, 737 MAX, scheduled for release in 2017, and the 878 Dreamliner. Alcoa's Forgings and Extrusions unit will be responsible for the supply of various components including the wing, fuselage and landing gear.

This is the fourth agreement signed between Alcoa and Boeing. Earlier in December last year, the two companies signed a $ 2.5 billion contract for the supply of fastening systems. The contract includes the supply of titanium alloys, stainless steels, alloy steels, aluminum and nickel-based superalloys for various Boeing aircraft platforms such as the 777X, 737 MAX and 787.
