An agreement with a Chinese investor on the privatization of Serbia's steel mill in Smederevo could be signed as early as April, says Bojan Bojkovic, a member of the supervisory board of the steel mill.
“We intend to sign an agreement that will save not only the steel plant, but also the Serbian economy, as the investment is about US $ 1 billion,” Boykovic told the Tanyug news agency on Sunday.
The tender is likely to be announced on February 29 and will last for about a month, after which all proposals will be considered during negotiations, and then a tender may be held, Bockowitz explained.
“The signing of the agreement is expected to take place at the end of April. Considering the progress in negotiations with potential investors, I am absolutely sure that the signing will take place and the issues with the steel plant will be resolved, ”Bojkovic said, according to Tanyug.
