Russia reacted to the transport blockade of Ukraine against Russian carriers and refused a license for the transit of goods from Ukraine. The restrictions adopted in Russia will harm the Ukrainian economy, but it seems that "Ukrainian activists" are ready to further impoverish their country, just to show their importance ... Ukraine is already on the brink of economic collapse amid the risk of termination of support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which cannot last forever.
“I am concerned about the slow progress in improving governance and fighting corruption,” said IMF chief Christine Lagarde last week. Without significant new efforts by the Fund, it is unlikely that it will be able to continue to support the country. Ukrainian Economy Minister Aivaras Abromavichus resigned last week. He spoke of rampant corruption and nepotism in the country. Ukraine is kept afloat only with the help of international loans and is currently awaiting the allocation of a tranche of $ 1.7 billion.
The Russian Ministry of Transport made this decision due to the fact that 100 Russian trucks were detained in Ukraine at spontaneous checkpoints and more than 500 trucks from other European countries cannot cross Ukraine on their way to Russia. However, earlier, 1,038 Ukrainian trucks easily crossed Russia.
Now Russia has reacted to this issue in a different way: "trucks that are registered in Ukraine" are not allowed to drive in Russia. This measure will remain active until the Ukrainian side stops "illegal blocking of Russian trucks in Ukraine."
In response to the Ukrainian blockade, Russia stops the transit of goods from Ukraine
