According to the latest figures from the US International Trade Commission (ITC), the export of US aluminum scrap in the first five months of this year was 609,148 tons, an increase of almost 13% from 540,239 tons in the same period last year.
Overall export growth reflected the purchase of aluminum scrap by China from the United States. At the same time, US aluminum imports in the first five months of this year totaled 323,415 tons, up 13.7% from 283,543 tons in the same period last year.
