According to the Association of Iron and Steel Producers of Turkey, in the first nine months of 2017, Turkish steel production increased by 13.5% to 27.7 million tonnes on an annualized basis.
In January-September 2017, billet production amounted to 18.9 million tons, which is 9.9% more than last year. Board production in this period increased by 22.1% to 8.8 million tonnes.
In September 2017, crude steel output increased by 13% to 3 million tonnes, but decreased by 5.7% compared to the previous month.
