The EU is one of the largest economies with the lowest per capita emissions. Under the Paris Agreement, the EU has pledged to cut CO2 emissions by at least 40 percent by 2030.
The EU is now introducing measures to reduce emissions from cars and light trucks. Although the economy of the European Union is growing rapidly, the Community will be able to fulfill its plan to reduce emissions by 2020.
Despite this, the EU cannot forget about climate problems. "Transport emissions continue to rise, so the Commission will present measures to reduce emissions from cars and light commercial vehicles over the next ten years from 2021." It is about tightening CO2 emission standards for cars.
Under the Paris Agreement, the EU has pledged to cut CO2 emissions by at least 40 percent by 2030 by modernizing the economy and creating jobs. In 2016, emissions in the EU decreased by 0.7%, while GDP increased by 1.9%.
