Copper on the London Metal Exchange rallies at the start of the new week. Metal on the LME in 3-month deliveries costs $ 6,810.00 per tonne, up 0.4%, according to brokers. However, the situation is much better for nickel, which increased by 1.7% to USD 12,315 per tonne.
However, the copper price could get support with the closure of Freeport-McMoRan Inc. After the fire in the region, the main transport route to the Grasberg copper mine was disrupted. This was announced to reporters by the representative of Freeport Riza Pratam. As a reminder, Grasberg is the second largest copper mine in the world.
On Friday, November 10, copper on the LME lost $ 22, or 0.3 percent, to $ 6,786 a tonne. The metal fell 1.6 percent last week.
