At the General Meeting of the World Steel Association, which took place on October 10, 2016 in Dubai (UAE), the Ukrmetallurgprom Association of Enterprises was elected an affiliate member of this organization.
As a reminder, the World Steel Association was founded as the International Iron and Steel Institute on October 19, 1967. The World Steel Association name was changed on October 6, 2008. It represents over 160 steel producers, producing over 85% of the world's steel products.
The World Steel Association is a non-profit organization headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. The second office, in Beijing (PRC), was opened in April 2006.
