ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, on the basis of its seven workshops, is creating a specialized repair company, Foundry and Mechanical Plant LLC (LMZ), whose main activity will be the repair business. The creation of LMZ began in November 2017 and is scheduled for completion in April 2018.
LMZ will focus on repair services for its own needs and external consumers. LMZ is planned to become a full-cycle production, starting from the production of liquid steel using electric arc furnaces to ready-made spare parts and machine-building equipment. Purchase of new equipment is planned. The base for the creation of the LMZ will be a shaped steel and shaped iron casting shop, a metal structure shop, a mold production shop, mechanical repair shops No. 1,2 and a repair and assembly shop No. 3.
LMZ will be able to increase the efficiency and prestige of the production of spare parts for the workshops of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, reducing production costs. Bringing non-core activities into a specialized business is a common practice.
