For the first time, Ukraine was included in the annual survey of gas hubs of the European Association of Energy Traders (EFET).
In the rating of the association, Ukraine received 3.5 points and lost to such hubs from the UK (NBP), the Netherlands (TTF), Belgium (ZTP), Germany (NCG). Nevertheless, Ukraine was ahead of Bulgaria and Romania, which began the process of liberalizing the gas market much earlier. At the end of 2016, Naftogaz of Ukraine became an associate member of EFET, which includes more than one hundred energy trader companies from 27 European countries
To improve its position in the EFET rating, Ukraine should set tariffs at internal points of entry /exit from the GTS, introduce daily balancing with unbalance settlement and start using short-term standardized products on the trading platform within the daily balancing.
Ukraine took 18th place in the rating of European gas hubs
