Copper prices are declining slightly on the London Metal Exchange. Metal on the LME for three-month shipments now costs $ 6,810.00 per tonne, after a 0.2 percent decline.
According to BMI Research analysts: "Next year, industrial raw materials, including metals, will take their breath away due to slowing growth in demand for metals in the Chinese economy, which is the world's consumer."
“2018 will be characterized by weaker growth in infrastructure spending in China and stronger measures by the Chinese authorities to control speculative activity in real estate,” they added.
Executives at copper mining company Antofagasta predict that demand for the metal in China will increase by 3-4 percent in 2018, up from 4-5 percent in 2017.
In the previous session, copper on the LME lost $ 7 and finished at $ 6,826 per tonne.
Copper shouldn't be so expensive in 2018
