The Christmas break and stocks in warehouses in December stabilized steel prices for the rest of the year. But according to MEPS International, steel will become more expensive again in January. The correction will take place only at the end of the decade.
Many European markets recorded high activity in November and calmed down in December. In the new year, prices will rise again, as evidenced by a slowdown in imports through market protection measures. However, imports can be strengthened with a change in the dollar exchange rate. On the other hand, distributors who tried to dispose of stock before the end of the year will be rebuilding warehouses. According to MEPS International, in these conditions, the rise in steel prices announced by manufacturers will be accepted by the market.
MEPS expects the upward trend in prices seen in 2016 and 2017 to continue in 2018. The company's analysts predict that a price correction will occur in the last year of the decade, driven by falling commodity prices. Prices will then rise again, reaching their highest level in 11 years in 2022.
In the coming years, the increase in steel prices is ensured
