Results of production of MMC of Ukraine in January 2018

Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January of this year produced 1.94 million tons of pig iron, which is 2% higher, 1.91 million tons of steel, which is 0.5% higher, 1.67 million tons of rolled steel, which is 0.1 % lower compared to December last year

Of the main capacities, 19 of 21 blast furnaces are in operation, which is 90%; 8 out of 9 open-hearth furnaces, accounting for 89%; 14 out of 16 converters, representing 86%; 7 out of 15 electric furnaces, accounting for 47%; 100% continuous casting machines.

During the first month of 2018, MMC enterprises produced: iron ore concentrate 5.39 million tons (107% at an annual level), agglomerate 2.84 million tons (105%), pellets 1.94 million tons (103%), coke 0, 95 million tons (94%), pig iron 1.94 million tons (105%), steel 1.91 million tons (94%), rolled steel 1.67 million tons (93%) from the level of the corresponding period of 2017.

In March 2018, it is planned to produce about 1.9 million tons of pig iron, about 1.9 million tons of steel and up to 1.6 million tons of rolled products.

The decrease in the production of some main types of products in the first month of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017 is due to the loss of capacity in the uncontrolled territory. At the same time, it was possible to achieve a noticeable reduction in the gap in the production of steel and rolled products and an increase in pig iron output relative to previous periods due to the successful reconstruction and timely overhaul of the main facilities at PJSC Zaporizhstal, PrJSC MMK im. Ilyich ", PJSC" Azovstal ", as well as stabilization of the work of PJSC" Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant "after a long forced downtime in 2017.
