Coal reserves at thermal power plants over the past month fell 2.6% to 1.47 million tons, according to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.
Anthracite reserves at power plants decreased by 8.9% to 601,100 tons, while steam coal reserves increased by 1.4% to 866.7 thousand tons.
As of Monday, Ukrainian power plants had 1.58 million tons of coal in storage, including 805,000 tons of anthracite.
Stocks in individual warehouses of regional heat producers fell by 3.3% per month to 245.9 thousand tons.
Anthracite reserves increased to 197.7 thousand tons from 188.2 thousand tons, and thermal coal reserves decreased to 48.2 thousand tons from 66.5 thousand tons.
Stocks have declined as demand for coal has increased over the past four days after a period of freezing weather.
Temperatures are expected to remain frosty in most parts of Ukraine, and heavy snowfalls are expected this week in most parts of Ukraine, expected in the central regions of the country, according to the emergency services.
