The trade conflict between China and the United States is growing. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce yesterday expressed its deep dissatisfaction with Washington's announcement of imposing anti-dumping duties on Chinese aluminum foil imported into the United States.
“The US ignored the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and seriously hurt the interests of Chinese aluminum exporters, so China is very unhappy,” said Wang Hejun, head of the Department of Defense and Investigation, quoted in the official communique.
President Trump will soon decide whether to extend anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel and aluminum products. According to experts, the next step by the Chinese authorities may be an increase in tariffs for US soybean products.
Growing commercial conflict has been accompanied by political tensions, especially in the disputed South China Sea, where Beijing's military expansion threatens US dominance. In addition to China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Brunei also claim rights to parts of this reservoir.
