In April 2018, 1.65 million tons of pig iron were smelted in Ukraine, which is 2% lower than in March 2018; 1.72 million tonnes of steel, up 0.5%, and 1.51 million tonnes of rolled metal products.
A slight decrease in the level of pig iron production in April was due to the repair work carried out at blast furnace No. 9 of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.
In the first 4 months of 2018, 20.3 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate were produced, remaining unchanged compared to the same period in 2017; agglomerate 10.76 million tons (an increase of 11%); pellets 7.1 million tonnes (up 16%); coke 3.61 million tons (up 9%); pig iron 6.94 million tons (an increase of 10%); steel 6.99 million tons and rolled metal 6.12 million tons; pipe products 357 thousand tons (an increase of 10%).
Taking into account the loss of capacity in the uncontrolled territory, enterprises located in the controlled territory of Ukraine, in 4 months of 2018, managed to increase the production of pig iron, and for the production of steel and rolled products to reach the level of the same period in 2017.
