Blast furnaces of Ukraine met at Zaporizhstal within the framework of a scientific and technical conference

On the basis of the Zaporizhstal Combine, from June 7 to 8, 2018, an annual scientific and technical conference of blast furnaces "Experience of reconstruction of BF # 3 at Zaporizhstal Combine" is held. More than 100 scientists, managers, experts in blast-furnace production from all over Ukraine met here.

The theme of the conference is based on the fact that Zaporizhstal reconstructed blast furnace No. 3 in a record time for the national industry - 8 months. During the reconstruction of BF # 3, a set of innovative solutions, unique for Ukraine, was applied, including the creation of an intelligent model of the furnace, the use of laser scanning technology for segments and SKD assembly. The new furnace is equipped with modern aspiration systems, which makes it possible to achieve parameters for cleaning emissions from dust up to 20 mg per cubic meter. The enterprise's investments in reconstruction amounted to UAH 1.9 billion.

The participants exchanged best practices in introducing new techniques and improving the technology of blast-furnace production, as well as familiarized themselves with the work of the reconstructed BF # 3 and furnace aspiration systems.

The conference was attended by representatives of metallurgical enterprises and research institutes of Ukraine, companies - world leaders in the production of metallurgical equipment for blast-furnace processing.

The conference of Ukrainian blast furnaces is a landmark event for the industry. It brought together the best metallurgists and scientists of the country. Today, Zaporizhstal has successfully implemented large-scale investment projects. The plant is actively modernizing production, increasing efficiency and is ready to share its experience with colleagues. It is important to accumulate the most advanced knowledge, technologies, scientific research, so that our cooperation will allow us to further develop the metallurgy of Ukraine.
